Privacy Policy

1. Scope
This policy covers the Nib app and this support website. Nib 1.3.26 does not include AdMob advertising. The advertising information below applies only to versions in which that feature is enabled.
2. Notes and on-device data
Profile names and emojis, diaries, notes, handwriting, recordings, PDFs and subject settings are stored on your device. Nib does not automatically upload this content to the developer’s servers or include it in ad requests. Backups, exports, sharing and device cloud backups chosen by you follow your selected storage location and the relevant service’s policy.
3. Permissions and Apple services
The microphone is used for recording, and speech recognition permission is used for transcription. Recordings are stored on your device and may be processed by Apple speech recognition services for transcription. File and photo access is used to import documents you select. Manage permissions in device settings. Apple’s privacy policy applies to processing by Apple services.
4. When advertising is enabled
The Google Mobile Ads SDK used for Library advertising may process IP addresses and approximate location, app or device identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic and performance information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and diagnostics. This information may be sent to Google AdMob and associated advertising services. Processing depends on consent and device settings. Nib requests non-personalized ads and disables the publisher first-party identifier. Non-personalized ads may still process technical information. Notes, handwriting, PDFs and recording content are not sent to advertising providers.
5. Advertising privacy choices
In versions with advertising enabled, privacy choices are presented before requesting ads where consent is required. When required, choices can be managed again through Advertising privacy settings in app settings. Google’s relevant policies govern its processing and retention.
6. Support requests and this website
When you email support, your email address and the message and attachments you provide are processed by the developer and email service to respond and troubleshoot. Please do not send private notes or personal information beyond what is needed. This site contains no added advertising or analytics scripts and no input forms. GitHub, the hosting provider, may process connection information such as IP addresses to provide and secure this site; its privacy statement applies.
7. Retention and deletion
On-device content may remain until you delete it or remove the app. You can use the data deletion option in app settings. Manage exported files, cloud backups and shared copies separately at their storage locations. Support information is managed for the period needed to respond and troubleshoot and for applicable retention obligations. Email us for privacy requests, including access, correction or deletion of support information. Advertising and hosting providers’ retention follows their own policies.
8. Children and policy changes
Nib does not intentionally collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child’s personal information was sent through a support request or similar communication. Policy changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
